With the competitive job market out there, I have started wondering how useful it is going to be to listen to these career counselors. They want to tell me what jobs are available, but they already have jobs. They have not spent the last year or two scouring the market for a particular field, so I wonder how they would know if there are Pharmacist Jobs available to someone coming straight out of college. You may not be able to land a lifetime spot at some huge pharmaceutical research company straight out of school, but I know a lot of people who are getting placements at chain stores or other retail outlets that have small pharmacies available. There are many big cities with twenty four hours pharmacies and other convenience locations that need trained pharmacy technicians or lead pharmacists to fill spots, so I do not think the employment situation is anywhere near as dire as people try to make it out to be.
